Keeper a Zero Trust Passwordmanager

In his latest podcast, Dominik Pickhardt discusses the presentation from Keeper Security at this past Security Field Day. Check out his thoughts on the Trust model, which to him, is the most important factor in selecting a Passwordmanager.

Why a Change of Mindset in the IoT Space Is Needed

Dominik Pickhardt thinks that the mentality around IoT security needs to change. He’s seen conversations more concerned about the concept of safety, rather than security conversations, with an all too common site of all IoT devices on one flat L2 networking. At Tech Field Day Extra at Cisco Live Europe 2020, Dominik and the other delegates got to hear from the Cisco IoT Group and what they are doing to address the challenges. They showed how their new Cyber Vision solution is adding critical visibility to the IoT security picture. Cyber Vision understands protocols used in industrial settings and automatically builds an inventory of devices that includes running software versions. This creates a topography of what devices are talking to each other in an easy to understand interface.

Policy Enforcement an End to End Game

Dominik Pickhardt was at Cisco Live Europe this year, where he was also a delegate for Tech Field Day Extra presentations at the event. During one of the sessions, he got a deep dive from Cisco on their policy offerings. This isn’t siloed to one product or service, but rather showed a consistent strategy across their entire portfolio. This allows for administrators to maintain scalable best practices as their infrastructure grows.

Game of Threats with Cisco AMP

At Cisco Live Europe, Dominik Pickhardt heard from the Cisco Security group. The presentation focused on updates for AMP for Endpoints. For Dominik, Cisco distinguishes themselves with integration for other AMP systems, as well as newly announced support for iOS.

How to fit an Elephant into a small car to transport it over the Networkautobahn

Load balancing across multiple WAN uplinks is a fairly common SD-WAN capability. At Networking Field Day last month, Dominik Pickhardt heard from VMware’s VeloCloud about something more challenging. They demonstrated how they can handle so-called “elephant flows”, which is when you have one large session that can’t be easily distributed.

NFD17 and Tech Field Day Extra Cisco Live Europe 2018

To start the year, Dominik Pickhardt will be attending two Field Day events, heading out to Silicon Valley for Networking Field Day, then crossing the pod for Tech Field Day Extra at Cisco Live Europe. Make sure to follow Dominik and all the delegates on Twitter for the events using #NFD17 and #CLEUR18.

Tech Field Day Extra at Cisco Live Europe 2017

Tech Field Day is excited to be working in collaboration for an event at Cisco Live Europe, coming up in February in Berlin. Dominik Pickhardt will be joining the other distinguished delegates, and he’s looking forward to all the great presentations and discussions. We can’t wait to see everyone there!
