When smartphones went mainstream in the late 2000s, they irrevocably changed the nature of mobile networks. Originally built for voice, these networks needed to pivot to data almost overnight, and agentic traffic is forcing the same shift across the rest of the internet today. Jonathan Bryce, executive director, CNCF, will discuss what 6–10x traffic spikes from AI agents mean for the underlying infrastructure, why systems need to be observable, scalable, and dynamically configurable, and how the cloud native community is building for it.
