Disaggregated Cloud Storage is becoming more of the norm in building out additional storage for workloads that rely on larger and larger datasets for data analytics, AI, CDN, and e-commerce. To get the scale efficiencies of storage while maintaining fast performance and dependable latencies that are core to the time to insight, innovation is needed. Moving from local to remote storage is cost effective, but creates an IO cliff of bandwidth and performance without critical hardware technologies. 100GbE+ networking and Optane memory and storage are new tools driving innovation. We’ll explore how a few cloud customers have deployed these to create high performance disaggregated storage. Presented by Allison Goodman, Sr. Principal Engineer, Director Optane Solutions Architecture, Intel Optane Group, Datacenter Products Group, and Vivek Sarathy, Product Lead, Disaggregated Storage, Intel.
