Portworx provides hybrid Kubernetes data services on any storage infrastructure, not just Pure Storage. Rao then discusses the differences in architecture between a machine-defined and application-defined control plane, and how Portworx moves storage management into Kubernetes. Goutham Rao, Co-Founder and CTO of Portworx, presents the Kubernetes Data Services Platform from Pure Storage. A storage overlay built for containers, Portworx is designed to virtualize physical storage and form a container storage overlay, offer dynamic container granular volume provisioning driven through Kubernetes, and offer container virtual volumes highly available anywhere. It is highly scalable, secure, and extends to anywhere. Rao then demonstrates the Portworx solution in action with a PostgreSQL failover, volume resize, and snapshots. He also takes questions from the Field Day delegates.
