Anthony Spiteri, Senior Global Technologist, Product Strategy, gives an overview of Veeam and their platform vision. He begins by discussing the acquisition of Veeam by Insight Partners and how this has helped the company to grow to over US$1 billion in bookings in 2019. Gartner places Veeam as a leader in backup and recovery software market share and the company is one of the most trusted platforms according to consumer surveys. Veeam’s differentiators are simplicity, flexibility, and reliability. Spiteri finishes with an overview of product announcements in 2020 and a preview of what’s next.

David Hill, Global Technologist, Product Strategy, presents cloud-native backup for Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. He begins with a discussion of data protection for Amazon AWS and the ability of Veeam to back up EBS data to S3. Veeam Backup for Cloud is available standalone or as part of an overall Veeam Backup & Replication strategy. Hill then demonstrates Veeam Backup of Amazon AWS, setting policies and schedules and demonstrating that data is protected. Throughout the presentation, the Field Day delegate panel joins in with questions and discussion.

Michael Cade, Senior Global Technologist, Product Strategy, demonstrates how Veeam can protect data in Microsoft Office 365. The product is available in the Marketplace, and can be easily configured and deployed. Available since 2015, Veeam for Office 365 supports the popular Microsoft Teams collaboration environment as well as Office documents. It is easy to deploy, using Terraform or Chocolatey as well. After the initial demo, Cade discusses the product architecture and components before returning to demonstrate the product. Throughout the presentation, the Field Day delegate panel joins in with questions and discussion.
