Using assets aquired from Bitfusion, VMware is able to virtualize GPUs, effectively doing for ML workloads what VSAN did for storage. It was great to have NetBeez return as a Field Day presenter at Tech Field Day Extra at Cisco Live US 2019. They spent the bulk of their time talking about their recently announced integration with Catalyst 9300 series switches. They introduced their novel client-side monitoring to the delegates, before going into the specifics that Cisco’s new switches running IOS-XE allow.

Dan Frith heard from Apstra for the first time at Tech Field Day Extra at VMworld 2019. Their intent-based networking and overall infrastructure vision with their Apstra Operating System was a bit out of Dan’s typical fare, which is more typically grounded in storage. After hearing their presentation, Dan was definitely impressed by their solutions, and can see why the company get’s a lot of buzz.

It’s always great to haver Lee Badman join us for Mobility Field Day. This summer, he got to hear from Fortinet at the event. As the title of his post indicates, there was lots of interest to hear during their presentation. They showed off new Wi-Fi 6 ready access point, new security features, as well as new tools for wireless professionals.
