Where Did Tech Field Day Come From? Tech Field Day at 10

The root of Tech Field Day came from open-minded marketing and PR folks willing to connect with independent technical influencers on our own terms. The idea came from “blogger days” held by companies like HP. But the real inspiration came from the delegates themselves, who needed a way to connect with companies that respected their independence. Without the faith of both the sponsors and the delegates, we never would have gotten Tech Field Day off the ground!

Gestalt IT tapped into the power of a unique and growing community of independent IT influencers, and this remains our most valuable asset. We built Tech Field Day primarily to serve this community and have always kept their needs in mind. Our delegates make it all possible, and I will always be grateful for their friendship and support.

Celebrating 10 Years of Pure Storage and Tech Field Day

Pure Storage has grown from a scrappy upstart to an established player in enterprise storage, and Gestalt IT and Tech Field Day were there the whole time. From their first Field Day appearance in 2011 to today’s Tech Talks and Exclusive Field Day events, we have grown together over 10 years.

Commvault has a long legacy for an enterprise IT company, but their GO conference still has that new car smell. Commvault GO 2017 will be their second annual conference, this year moving up from Orlando to Washington, DC. The company has an interesting slate of sessions and speakers lined up for this year.

Tech Field Day Gets Containerized at DockerCon and Cloud Field Day

If you live in the world of containers and Docker, then DockerCon is probably a pretty big deal. It’s being held out in Austin, April 17-20. For those of you who’re not getting their fill of all things Docker during those days, Tech Field Day Extra is planned for the Monday before DockerCon, on April 17. This event is being done in partnership with Docker, and they will be presenting to TFD’s inquisitive panel of delegates along with other companies from their ecosystem. Full video of all presentations will also be available after the event. Tech Field Day was there last year, and they’re excited to return to DockerCon!

Tech Field Day Events 2017

The Tech Field Day team has a full roster of events for 2017. They will host two main events, starting in Austin from February 1st-3rd. The second comes on September 27th-29th in Silicon Valley. In between, there will also be three Tech Field Day Extra events at Intertop, Cisco Live US, and VMWorld US.

Storage Field Day Events in 2017

In 2017, Gestalt IT presents three Storage Field Day events, bringing together our independent delegates with industry-leading companies. The first will be held March 8-10 in Silicon Valley, followed by June 14-16 in Denver, and November 8-10 in Silicon Valley. Video from all of our events is live-streamed for anyone to view, and comprehensive recordings are posted and shared for later consumption or review. The Storage Field Day community also has a thriving presence on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to continue conversations throughout the year.

What’s It like To Present at Tech Field Day?

Tech Field Day is an unorthodox event to be sure, and it can be a challenge to explain the event to new presenting companies and delegates. Zerto Offers Tech Field Day Delegates a Sneak Peek

Tech Field Day has been the launchpad for many products, but we are especially pleased when companies choose a presentation to our delegates as part of their corporate launch. Such was the case this month with Zerto, a disaster recovery solution provider. The server virtualization experts brought together for Tech Field Day 6 were extremely impressed with the Zerto solution, and we are pleased that the company is finally out of stealth and ready for closer examination.
