Keith Townsend outlines two solutions he saw that enable organizations to abstract the time-consuming challenges involved with provisioning ephemeral workloads. At Cloud Field Day this month, he saw Delphix present on how their solution allows organizations to automate the process of masking sensitive data through their abstraction solution. At Tech Field Day last year, Keith also saw Actifio present on a similar solution, but aimed at abstracting legacy workloads.
Moving Beyond Backups to Enterprise-Data-as-a-Service
James Green recently saw a presentation from Actifio at Tech Field Day late last year. In this post, they look over some case studies from the company. These highlighted how the company can not only provide effective disaster recovery as a service, but Enterprise Data as a service. This allowed a media organization to not just get piece of mind with data, but to better leverage it within an organization.
Enterprise Data as a Service (DaaS): the new paradigm of Actifio
Actifio presented at Tech Field Day earlier this year in Silicon Valley. We were lucky to have Raff Poltronieri as a delegate, and he’s shared his thought about what he’s saw. He looks at their Sky Platform 8.0, and how it gives organizations the agility needed to let business drive IT.
Commentary: Infrastructure Considerations for Machine Learning
In this post, Dr. Rachel Traylor looks at machine learning in the enterprise. The issue is machine learning takes vast swaths of varied data to produce useful results, something that might constrain a production database. Dr. Traylor looks at the Sky Infrastructure Actifio presented at Tech Field Day in September as a possible solution. This saves a “golden copy” of data, with changes saved incrementally, and able to serve up “virtual copies” much more efficiently for testing.
Actifio Tech Field Day 15 Recap
For Keith Townsend, Actifio was a returning presenter to Tech Field Day, having first seen them in 2014 at Storage Field Day. In his video review, Keith looks at how the company has been successful in their data as a service business model.
Techfield Day 15 Preview: Actifio
The CTO Advisor himself, Keith Townsend, will be at Tech Field Day next week. He’s looking forward to getting an update from Actifio. Since he last saw them at Storage Field Day in 2014, the company has moved from what Keith calls a copy-data focus to secondary data. With the recent investment boom in the segment, Keith is interested to hear more about their updated strategy.
Actifio, the Swiss Army knife of data
Raff Poltronieri last heard from Actifio last year at Tech Field Day in Boston. Next week he’ll have a chance to get caught up with them in Silicon Valley. Raff found it extremely versatile when he first saw it last year, and this time around, he’s looking forward to a deeper look at their Enterprise Data-as-a-Service platform. He’s also interested in some use case applications, particularly disaster recovery.
Protection and instant access of Microsoft SQL database – DevOps with Actifio
Tech Field Day presentations are always informative, but it’s always great when a presentation directly helps someone solve a problem. Mariusz Kaczorek remembered a presentation from Actifio at last June’s Tech Field Day event. In this post, he took what he saw from Actifio to solve an access issue with Microsoft SQL Server backups.
