Kate Scarcella

Kate Scarcella is a cybersecurity leader with over 20 years of experience driving innovation and resilience across enterprise security. She holds a Master of Science in Information Security from Nova Southeastern University, where her thesis focused on securing North America’s electrical grid. Kate is also a CISSP and serves as chair of the Continuous Delivery Foundation Cybersecurity Special Interest Group (SIG).

Throughout her career, Kate has advised Fortune 50 enterprises on security strategy, serving on the Security Board of Advisors at IBM. She has been recognized as an expert in modernizing Security Operations Centers (SOCs), advancing NextGen SOCs by integrating IoT and IIoT intelligence into core detection and response capabilities.

Kate’s passion lies in helping organizations build resilient infrastructures while balancing security, innovation, and business outcomes. Her perspective is rooted in both technical expertise and leadership experience, enabling her to bridge strategy with execution. She continues to shape the conversation on cybersecurity resilience and the evolving threat landscape through speaking, writing, and industry leadership.

Outside of work, Kate is deeply engaged in mentoring the next generation of security professionals and contributing to open collaboration within the cybersecurity community.
