Dell Technologies Cloud Storage Use Cases

Geeta Vaghela, Director, Product Management, discusses customer requirements for cloud storage. Dell Technologies customers are moving data off-premises for DR, archiving, or shifting primary locations but are also performing cloud compute for analytics on-demand. She presents the automated disaster recovery as a service using VMware Cloud on AWS with native replication of Dell EMC storage. Next, she discusses a genome sequencing application which leverages GPU instances in the cloud. Another use case is autonomous vehicle design, which includes both on-premises and cloud processing of data from the edge, the datacenter, and the cloud. Media and entertainment customers use PowerScale in Google Cloud for collaborative video editing using virtual workstations and elastic compute and storage.
