Joe CaraDonna, VP, Storage Division Cloud CTO, discusses the performance of Dell Technologies PowerScale cloud storage in Google Cloud. He then discusses a use case with Scratch DNA sequencing throughput, showing that customers can have the same level of latency and performance in the cloud as on-premises. Under the hood, PowerScale is the same enterprise-class scale-out high-performance storage but managed for a cloud user experience. It is integrated with the Google Cloud portal and billing system. CaraDonna demonstrates the solution in action, before returning to a discussion of the future of the platform. CaraDonna announces that PowerScale for Google Cloud will soon support S3 protocol in addition to NFS, SMB, and HDFS. He finishes this section by presenting a multi-cloud solution using PowerMax, PowerStore, or PowerScale to provide storage in VMware on AWS, Google Cloud, Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
