At Tech Field Day in December, VMware presented on Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). Their solution, focused on VMware and AWS, greatly simplifies disaster recovery for their users. FlashStack Brings Simplicity and Flexibility to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
Picking between simplicity, flexibility, and performance on the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is a thing of the past. With their FlashStack Converged Infrastructure, Pure Storage is changing the game. They showcased how FlashStack (a joint offering between Pure Storage and Cisco) brings simplicity to an on-premises VCF deployment while at Tech Field Day Extra at VMworld 2020. Keeping SLAs Honest With Broadcom
Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are agreements between network providers and you about network reliability and performance and can help to keep those providers in check to ensure that you are getting what you were promised. There’s just one problem, how can you prove if you’re not getting the service that you agreed to? Broadcom has come to the rescue here with Broadview+, which is a solution that helps you monitor your SLAs and keep your provider accountable. Becky Elliott was a delegate at Cloud Field Day in November and follows the event with an analysis of Portworx by Pure Storage. Cisco’s HyperFlex Gets a Boost
Cisco highlighted its updated HyperFlex at Storage Field Day in August. Cisco’s HyperFlex 4.5 comes with new capabilities and validated workloads. Educating Teachers About Wireless With Metageek Rampart
Metageek presented its tool, Rampart, at Mobility Field Day in August 2019. Metageek’s Rampart simplifies troubleshooting and reporting on wireless networks by allowing you to figure out how your Wi-Fi is performing and if there are any issues that need to be resolved. Purpose Built SDS With Low Latency: StorPool
StorPool presented its latest version of SDS 2.0 at last November’s Cloud Field Day. Writing for GestaltIT.com, Georgina Ford explains that StorPool’s SDS 2.0 is purpose-built, fast, and efficient block storage software that features “advanced block-level software-defined storage, fully distributed, scale-out, online changes of everything, and it runs on several standard servers (both converged or stand-alone).” Ford adds that it appears to be highly scalable and efficient architecture.
