I’m currently a Production Engineering manager at Facebook, working on the Autonomous Infrastructure Management team. Our focus is to provide a platform that Facebook’s engineers can use to automate manual work, freeing up time to focus on harder and more important problems. I started at Facebook just over five years ago as an engineer on the Site Reliability Operations team where I spent my first three years working on a mix of day-to-day firefighting to keep the site up and longer-term automation of said firefighting. Two years ago, I transitioned to management (still on SRO) and helped the team reach its goal of becoming unnecessary, then moved on to my current team.
