Rubrik offers a point in time restore option, with a focus on operational simplicity. This can be recovered with a simple restore, as an export to a different location, or via Live Mount. This enables instant read/write power-on clones, with the ability to mount clones to multiple hosts. All of this has full automation support via REST API’s.

Included as part of their 4.0 release, this allows users to make a power-on archived snapshot of a VM in the cloud. This is optimized currently for VMware to AWS, with more support planned in forthcoming release. This includes the conversion of the .vmx file from a monolithic to a cloud streamable file, allowing for incremental updates after the initial snapshot.
