Megan Sorensen

Megan Sorensen is a Sr. Network Engineer focused on networking and wireless, with a track record of designing, operating, and troubleshooting complex environments across higher education and enterprise settings. She has led initiatives spanning enterprise-grade Wi-Fi design and deployment using Ekahau and Mist, large multi-building network operations (60+ buildings), and high-density wireless engineering—including stadium and conference-scale deployments through roles supporting Idaho State University and the SCinet team at Supercomputing Conference.

Beyond wireless, Megan’s experience covers unified communications and contact center infrastructure (including Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Contact Center Express), large-scale endpoint support (1,800+ physical and soft phones), and network security architecture and operations. She has deployed and managed security platforms including Palo Alto firewalls at scale (116+ via Panorama), Zscaler policy implementations (DLP, URL filtering, access controls, sandboxing, client connector), and identity/security integrations (Cisco ISE and Duo). She’s also contributed to business-critical resiliency and compliance work such as MPLS-to-IPsec failover designs, data center NTP solutions, and e-911 architecture updates to meet federal requirements.

Megan holds a B.S. in Information Technology Systems with minors in Communications and Geographic Information Systems from Idaho State University, and she continues to expand her expertise through ongoing certification and technical development in networking and wireless.

Megan Sorensen will join us as a delegate at Mobility Field Day 14 on May 6, 2026!
