Mike Huot

Mike Huot is an experienced infrastructure technologist with over two decades of expertise spanning networking, compute, storage, automation, and cloud technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Itascapoint Advisory Services, his approach combines deep technical knowledge with a focus on business outcomes, particularly in designing systems that effectively blend traditional infrastructure with modern cloud architectures.
Before joining Itascapoint, Mike built a diverse career across healthcare and technology. At Children’s Minnesota, he designed mission-critical infrastructure balancing strict healthcare compliance with innovation. Earlier in his career, he served as a systems engineer, implementing emerging networking technologies and managing complex multi-vendor infrastructure projects. His interest in open-source solutions led him to become a key contributor to OpenNMS, helping foster its community before eventually joining The OpenNMS Group as Principal Product Strategist.
Mike is passionate about understanding the context of infrastructure data to improve detection, resolution, and prevention of technical issues. He excels at translating complex technical concepts into practical solutions and building bridges between specialized teams. His technical curiosity extends beyond work—when not tackling infrastructure challenges, Mike explores 3D printing, electronics, and coding projects, applying the same methodical approach and creativity that define his professional contributions.
