In this session, Ali Bidabadi, Director of Cloud Architecture, gives an overview of Fortinet cloud security reference architectures and how they can be leveraged to build a resilient and scalable deployment in a multi-cloud environment. He will discuss various deployment models and design patterns in AWS, Azure, and GCP as well as some of the design considerations and best practices to secure Kubernetes clusters in a multi-cloud environment.

The Fortinet Cloud Solution Architecture Team designs solutions for multi-cloud deployment in the enterprise. Examples include FortiGate VM active/passive HA in public cloud, a cloud security services hub with autoscaling and AWS transit gateway, Azure virtual WAN architecture, secure segmentation and highly available web application protection, and multi-region teleworker architecture in GCP. The discussion then turns to Calico, which Fortinet uses to provide best of breed container and Kubernetes security. It enables fine-grained access control to any external endpoint and is integrated with FortiGate. Fortinet can also provide telemetry to FortiSIEM or other SIEM solutions from Kubernetes.
