David Hill, Global Technologist for Product Strategy, introduces the Kasten platform for data management of cloud-native applications. Veeam announced their acquisition of Kasten on October 6, 2020, and this is one of the first discussions of the integration of this solution into the Veeam portfolio. Kasten’s K10 platform brings data protection and mobility to Kubernetes workloads with a focus on application state across containers. After an architecture overview and product roadmap discussion, Hill demonstrates installation and configuration of Kasten, creation of policies, and application restore. At the end of this presentation, Rick Vanover, Senior Director for Product Strategy, summarizes the Tech Field Day presentation and takes questions from the Tech Field Day delegates.
