Jason learned how to program in BASIC on a Commodore VIC20 when he was 7 years old and has been enthralled with making technology do cool things since. His career began during the late 1990s ISP boom, cutting his teeth in dial-up tech support before evolving into network engineering, where he spent much of his career in the service provider space designing, building, and optimizing networking infrastructure.
As co-founder and CTO of WAN Dynamics, Jason helped drive innovation in SD-WAN, network automation, and managed network services. He also co-founded the US Networking User Association (https://www.usnua.com) fostering a nationwide community of network engineering professionals and currently serves on the board of Ohio IX (https://www.ohioix.net), helping shape the future of regional internet exchange and interconnectivity.
Now, as the founder of Bits in Flight (https://bitsinflight.com), Jason advises organizations on leveraging emerging technologies to enhance enterprise networks. His work blends deep technical expertise with strategic vision, helping companies navigate the evolving landscape of connectivity and infrastructure.
Jason is an avid music enthusiast and enjoys playing drums. He shares his insights and experiences on the Bits in Flight blog where he writes about networking, technology trends and the ever-changing tech industry.
