Personnel: Andy Ferris, Jeff Hughes, Mike O'Brien

Andy Ferris, Product Manager, demonstrates Igneous data management through a series of use cases for the product. The first demonstration is legacy NAS backup, which presents challenges at scale. A modern NAS backup solution should always hit SLAs, minimize costs, and be simple and flexible, and Ferris demonstrates how Igneous protects NAS at scale for a major chip manufacturer. The next use case is data archive, which presents many challenges in terms of visibility, simplicity, and ROI. His demonstration of Igneous shows file archive at scale for the Allen Institute, which has 5 PB of data and can be scanned in 2 hours by Igneous. The third use case is data visibility and discovery. Igneous presents an up to date index that is scalable, organized, and sharable for Quantum Spatial. Ferris is joined by the Cloud Field Day delegates, with many questions throughout.

Personnel: Jeff Hughes, Mike O'Brien

Jeff Hughes, CTO, presents the Igneous technology and how the company is facing the challenge of unstructured data. The goal was to develop a simple approach to data management, de-coupling data management from storage to bring flexibility. Igneous focused on performance and scale to create a single data management solution across all enterprise unstructured storage locations. Igneous AdaptiveSCAN, InfiniteINDEX, and IntelliMOVE powers the company’s DataProtect, DataDiscover, and DataFlow products. AdaptiveSCAN scans data quickly without impacting other production applications. InfiniteINDEX is a cloud-based, purpose-built database optimized to index all enterprise data. IntelliMOVE moves data at a constant rate that is independent of data and storage characteristics. Jeff is joined by Mike O’Brien, CRO, and the Cloud Field Day delegates in a discussion of data management.

Mike O’Brien, CRO, introduces Igneous through a discussion of unstructured data management. Igneous targets data management in the enterprise, the complex and manual data management, and the sprawl of vendors and products. Enterprises are struggling to keep up with data growth. They can’t see, manage, monitor or search, they are failing SLAs, are locked in to storage products, and see the cloud as cost prohibitive. Infrascale seeks to provide better data visibility as the key to efficient unstructured data management.
